Do you have several years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of networks and firewalls? Do you want to work on creating security-enhancing changes within IT at the Government Offices of Sweden and Swedish embassies? We are now looking for a Network Security Technician who wants to realize more ideas that strengthen the protection of one of Sweden's most exposed and exciting IT environments, right in the center of events.

In the role of Network Security Technician at the Section for Operational IT Security, you will be a central part of security discussions for both project and architectural contexts. You will develop and manage systems that strengthen the IT security of the Government Offices' IT environment and participate in the work of operating, maintaining, and installing network security products and firewalls. Tasks also include network monitoring, analysis, and proactive troubleshooting, as well as work with documentation and the creation of system descriptions. The work is done in a knowledgeable team where it is important to stay updated through environmental monitoring with a focus on network security, current threat landscape, and new technical solutions.

The Government Offices offer good opportunities for continuous further education. Business travel may occur.

Your background

To be considered for this role, you must meet all mandatory requirements and preferably also the merit criteria.

Requirements:

• High school diploma with a documented interest in IT security or work experience deemed relevant by the employer
• Several years of relevant and current work experience in the operation, maintenance, and installation of networks and firewalls.
• Experience in documentation and creating system descriptions.
• Experience in network monitoring, analysis, and proactive troubleshooting.
• Relevant knowledge of network security solutions and IT security systems.
• Good oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English.

Merits:

• Relevant post-secondary education in the field of IT security.
• Certification in IT security or network technology.
• Experience working with network security solutions within an authority or organization with high security requirements.
• Relevant certification in the network area (e.g., products from Cisco and Palo Alto).
• Knowledge of Linux.
• Knowledge of IT automation for configuration of network products.

Other information

The advertisement concerns one or more permanent positions starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.

On-call work outside regular working hours may occur.

The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance with a registry check will be carried out before a decision on employment is made. You must be a Swedish citizen, but you are welcome to have a foreign background.
